We present data obtained in a questionnaire regarding sexuality applied to 1,437 adolescent students in the city of Botucatu and aged from 15 to less than 19 years. The results show the characteristics of the developing sexuality of the students and suggest that sexual education should be included in the educational process of children and adolescents. We also suggest that healthcare professionals encourage the discussion of matters related to sexuality at every opportunity, such as pediatric or adolescent appointments.
